Day 1

Begin this captivating itinerary of adventure and tours in Sri Lanka from Colombo, where our company representative will pick you up from your hotel or from Colombo airport for transfer to Sigiriya. This is one of the most impressive tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. Climb to the top of the huge rock to explore the ruins of a 5th-century rock fortress, a true feat of ancient engineering. The day’s Sri Lanka tour itinerary ends with an overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 2

After breakfast, our day starts with a transfer to Kandy. Enroute visit to the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a sacred pilgrimage site for over 2,000 years. Carved out of the natural rock, this UNESCO world heritage site is the largest cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The five sanctuaries at Dambulla preserve an extraordinary collection of over 150 statues of Buddha. At Dambulla, have a close encounter with the mischievous monkeys frolicking around the temple grounds. Then continue the journey to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital. Along the way to Kandy, stop to visit a typical Sri Lankan spice garden and see first-hand why Sri Lanka has been famous throughout history for its extraordinarily varied and high-quality spices. Then proceed to Kandy, one of the most popular places to visit in Sri Lanka, passing through a beautiful landscape of verdant hills. Visit the Temple of the Tooth which houses the sacred relic of Buddha, making Kandy the nation’s holiest city. The day’s Sri Lanka travel itinerary ends with check-in at the hotel in Kandy.

Day 3

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel in Kandy, the tour makes its way heading south-east through the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea-producing Central province. Along the way, we will stop to visit a tea plantation. Thanks to the fertile terrain and temperature, Sri Lanka is an ideal location to grow tea. The cultivation of tea began here in the second half of the 19th century. Today, Sri Lanka has become one of the world’s largest tea exporters. The next stop on our Sri Lanka tour itinerary is Ella. This nature-lovers’ paradise, whose name literally means “waterfall” in Sinhalese, is sure to be a highlight of your Sri Lanka vacation. Situated over 1,000 meters above sea level, Ella enjoys a cooler climate and a rich bio-diversity. Upon arrival in Ella climb up the mountain to Little Adam’s Peak and enjoy a breath-taking view of the area with its lush green tea plantations and waterfalls. The panorama visible through the Ella Gap across the southern plains of the Sri Lankan countryside is spectacular, as is the waterfall at Ravana. The day’s Sri Lanka tour itinerary ends with an overnight stay in Ella.

Day 4

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel in Ella, the day’s itinerary picks up the south-easterly drive once again to reach Sri Lanka’s Southern province for a real wildlife experience in Yala National Park. The park is a nature reserve with a protected area of about 130,000 hectares of forests, grasslands, and lagoons and is home to over 40 species of mammals and over 200 species of birds. Yala Park is also is famous for sheltering the world’s largest concentration of leopards. Enjoy an adventurous Sri Lanka safari ride through Yala Park. Then drive to Tissamaharama to unwind and enjoy some rest and relaxation in a Tissamaharama hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel and transfer to Galle. Galle, the epic Southern capital of Sri Lanka, where classic Dutch architecture meets a tropical setting creating a vivid atmosphere in beauty. Walk the Dutch-haunted streets listening to the creaks of wooden saloon doors and observe how European architecture mingles with South Asian traditions today flooding cultural enthusiasts on a global scale. Its original ramparts and bastions preserved up to date showcase evidence of a heritage preserved for more than 3 1/2 centuries. Walk clockwise within the fort to observe the 'old gate' carrying the British coat of arms. Flanking the old gate is the Zwart bastion - the oldest of all - and the lighthouse standing 18 feet in its glory next to the Point Utrecht Bastion. This Dutch bliss is painted with streets that spread in a rectangular grid pattern pierced with houses carrying Dutch colonial style verandas. Hop into the Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex to be mesmerized by an array of souvenir selections. However, its hallmark stands a reality where the Dutch fort remains a working community with its usual buzz of administrative offices, court complex, commercial buildings, churches and Southern folks frequenting its streets bracing the air of the Elysium of architecture, Galle

Day 6

After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, our Sri Lanka adventure is complete with the transfer from Galle to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo.
